Get everyone into the same room

When responding to incidents is a 24 hour job, it's only natural for teams to be separated by shift hours or geographic boundaries. It's hard to get everyone in the same room at the same time.

Decisions For Heroes offers 'Real-Time Collaboration' which is a group (everyone can read and contribute), asyncronous (at any time), instant messenger (it's instant). Unlike email, we keep threaded conversations that allow your rescue workers to dive in and out as required.

Group conversations need to be kept on topic - and we do that by guiding discussion topics around the incidents, training exercises, qualifications, and other entities you have created. Message are stored securely, and only visible to other members of your team. Team members can sign-in at anytime and contribute to the conversation.

This is without contraint, use this tool as you wish. As we hear about good ideas, we might try to enhance and educate other teams on how they can get more from our Real-Time Communications tool. Here are some examples we've heard of already...

1. Planning for a training exercise, asking questions, and making sure everyone is aware.
2. Keeping a timestamped log back at base during an incident.
3. Debriefing those after-thoughts when then adrenaline has subsided.
4. Coming up with lessons-learnt after a big scenario.
5. Suggesting course of actions and reporting back on progress to the team.
6. Sharing links to extra reading, maps, photos, and content about a topic.
