SAR Subaqua Dive Team Logs

CLARKSDALE, MISSISSIPPI - Calling all D4H search & rescue dive teams! Brian Smith from Coahoma County, Mississippi in the United States has put together a proposal for adding Search & Rescue dive logs to Decisions For Heroes. With Brian's permission, we have published this form here for general discussion. We're going to build the ability for subaqua dive logs, and would like to get the template perfect for everyone. Please leave your comments here, in the 'Improve It' section inside, or in the more active Facebook discussion.

Brian has kindly hosted a copy of the form, click here to see all drop-down boxes, and form fields.

Here are a couple of requests we've already had by email:

-----
Name of diver and grade should be there. Problem is different regions/countries different grade names. Although professional diving grades are a bit more interlinked.
----
Dive time - time under water missing field
----
All values would also have to be in metric for Europe. ft - Metres, psi - bar, weight - kgs, temps - Celsius, etc
----
If it's a working dive for the police etc a field for agency who called out team, times etc would be good for gathering stats.
----
Dive buddy field would be cross referenced to follow who is diving with who.
----
This is an area where an equipment log would be of great benefit as annual checks and servicing is very important in diving. An alert system would be great.
----
Being 'in medical' is important in diving. Date of last medical and alert system
----
Tags. Boat dive or shore dive. Beach, pier, Rib, half decker .
----
Surface feed or scuba set up. Most prof divers use surface demand but local teams may use bottles on back.
----
There would probably have to be an overall incident log as well as a personal dive log for each diver as there may be multiple dives
----

Thanks for those!

The overall incident log together with personal incident logs is something that would be useful to use, although not in a diving context. Our missions tend to be made up of a number of different smaller searches and events, each of which could be logged in quite a lot of detail so smaller logs contributing to a larger incident would be very useful.

The ability to upload details either from Dive Computors or other electronic dive logs eg Suunto Dive Manager
