D4H Podcast - Episode 1

Listen to the first episode of our podcast. Based on feedback, we'll do further episodes, with more features, and guests on the show.

Let us know!

Thanks Donnchadh, and we're recruiting!

Those in our community will need little introduction to Donnchadh Mac Cobb. Donnchadh has been the 'Lead International Coordinator' for D4H here in Ireland for the last 9 months. Regular readers of this blog will understand the huge contribution he has made to our company - especially in giving us a chuckle as we counted the number of different ways customers around the world attempted to pronounce his name!

Tomorrow Donnchadh moves on to start his own business and we would like to publicly thank him for his major contribution and wish him the very best of luck with his new challenge. You can't say bye yet though, we're delighted Donnchadh will remain connected and involved with Decisions For Heroes in a new capacity as an authorized independent sales representative for the brand here in Ireland.

As one leaves, another joins. We're now recruiting immediately for the position of 'International Sales Coordinator' based at the D4H HQ in Dublin, Ireland. You're just one step away from something awesome!

We're Hiring: Want to do this?

Want to do this? Want to work with emergency response teams every day? Want to live, play, and work rescue? Decisions for Heroes is hiring an 'International Sales Coordinator' based at our Dublin offices. This is a big deal.

Decisions For Heroes is an innovative new emergency response team management technology continuing to experience rapid growth across the globe. Our international operation has had particular success and we are firmly committed to growing our capacity and to continue expanding our team accordingly. We are now looking for ambitious sales professionals to join our crew.

Speaking at the National Emergency Management Conference

This morning, Managing Director Robin Blandford presented Decisions For Heroes (D4H) at the first 'Social Media in Emergency Management Camp' at the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA) conference in Virginia, United States.

Using the power of digital tools, Robin presented remotely on a large screen and took questions from the audience of Federal, State and Local Emergency Managers. It's nice to know people are listening, and as it turned out, a customer of ours, Michigan State Police, were in the audience!

A surprise to both of us I think. You've got to love social media.

A very big thank you to Dawn Dawson (
@northlandfox) from Kansas for the invitation and making this happen. A fantastic opportunity.

Irish Government Invests in Decisions For Heroes

Pictured above is the Irish Government Minister for Enterprise, Jobs and Innovation, Richard Bruton and Frank Ryan, Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Ireland with Company Founder Robin Blandford, announcing the awarding of their Government Investment Fund into Decisions For Heroes (ByteSurgery Ltd).

Speaking after meeting the company to discuss their plans Minister Bruton commented: "The ingenuity and creativity of young Irish entrepreneurs will drive our recovery. As a government we are determined to help committed young companies with good ideas to succeed. That is what this is all about - getting vital start up funding and supports into companies at that critical early stage, when they most need it."

Enterprise Ireland set up the new fund as a mechanism to get financial support into very early stage companies at the critical product market fit stage of their projects. Decisions For Heroes is using the funding to fund product engineering and continue to expand their global sales. We are recruiting!

Commenting on the announcement Frank Ryan, Chief Executive Officer of Enterprise Ireland said: "We see this fund as a strategic investment in the future of Ireland’s internet and games industry. Under our Software Strategy, we want to further stimulate the emergence of internet based companies in Ireland and to broaden their international base and scale. This new fund is getting critical early stage finance to some of Ireland’s newest and most exciting internet and games entrepreneurs to help them validate their market and successfully grow their business."

Game On! We're delighted, thanks to all our emergency response teams and our entire community who have backed us to this point so far. This news should be in the national papers this weekend, and has already started appearing online.
